Civichive – West Africa

Theme: Youth, Technology & the Future of Governance in West Africa

Democracy is not a spectator sport. Across West Africa, citizens are proving this every day by building tools that track government spending, protect electoral integrity, and amplify voices that have been silenced for too long.

The West Africa CivicTech Conference is where these builders gather.

On July 24, 2026, we return to the Civic Centre in Lagos for a one-day convergence of the region’s most passionate innovators, policymakers, civil society leaders, tech enthusiasts, and citizens who believe technology can make governance work better.

  • You can expect bold conversations and panels that don’t tiptoe around the hard questions. Can Technology serve democracy? How do we protect civic space in hostile environments? What happens when citizens stop waiting and start building and participating.
  • Practical Workshops that will leave you with skills, not just business cards. Sessions led by practitioners who have built solutions that work in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Mali, and beyond.
  • Meet the 2026 CivicTech Fellows. Fifteen innovators from across West Africa are scaling tools that tackle election integrity, inclusion, justice, and citizen participation.
  • Make real connections and network with policymakers, funders, journalists, and fellow citizens who share your conviction that democracy can be better, and technology can enable it.

YOU SHOULD COME IF YOU ARE A:

  • CivicTech founder with a solution ready to scale
  • Policy makers searching for tools that actually work
  • Journalist covering democracy, governance, or technology
  • Civil society leader tired of working in silos
  • student or young professional ready to build, not just critique
  • Citizen who refuses to wait for change
